Salve civis. Thank you for stopping by. I am Robert, and this
is my about me page. I believe that I am a complicated person and my life has
been very interesting thus far. It is hard to sum all of myself up short and
sweet like, but I will try.
I was born in New York and took way too long to make my way
across the country to California. I left my family and 18 years of memories in
North Carolina to head out west with my wife and our cats to find a place we
felt more at home.
Since moving here I have worked temp jobs and have had a
chance to do a lot of different things while meeting a lot of different people.
I have also had the chance to work on our essential oil business enough that is
starting to pay better than the temp companies I've worked for.
If you are a details person you can find a lot of our story
on our site as we wrote about most of it as we went through it. I thought I
would use this space though to tell you a few things about me that might not
shine trough in my writing:
- I have a grown son that I don’t talk to much because he is stubborn. I might write a post about that one day.
- I have a bit of an obsession with Roman history. I like all history but I know more about Roman history than most others. When I hear Patrick Stewart, I think Lucius Aelius Sejanus not Captain Picard.
- Speaking of Picard, I love Star Trek. My favorite series is Deep Space Nine. Watching people who have grown beyond religion and war while confronted with both has had me hooked since early on.
- I have dyslexia and I do not spell well; so of course I would aspire to be a writer. Until the computer became so easy to use, with programs to fix my grammar, I always kept a dictionary on hand and planned extra time for writing.
- I would like to think that people who know me would describe me as kind and helpful. However, they are more likely to say I am sarcastic and blunt.
- If I could choose a super power I would pick the power to heal anyone of anything with a touch. Of course I would really like to time travel, but I believe the needs of the many outweigh the needs of a few.
- I will eat jellybeans until I am sick.
You will have the chance to learn more about me in our
upcoming podcast series. Until then stay groovy my friends!
