Today I have an icky tummy.

This is a sentence I use way to often. I have always had a troubled stomach. When I was a kid they said I had ulcers and I started drinking Maalox by the gallon for years. As I got older I tried all sorts of other medications and found them to be unpleasant and unhelpful.

I have not had a doctor tell me what is wrong with me yet, even though I have seen quite a few. They have preformed every test they can think of without sending a camera down my throat or up my, well you know. I am most hesitant for either. Besides... over the years I have figured out it is mostly one thing.
For some people it is all in their head for me it is all in my stomach. Stress, nervousness, frustration, anger and all those other emotions we would all rather not feel hit me right in the gut. If it is not my emotions making me sick I have a host of other troubles. I have a tendency to wake up with a morning sickness. Not always vomiting but I will feel nauseated for a while.
Some things are worse than others. I will get burning that comes on at night that will double me over with pain and is often accompanied by vomiting. After one of those nights the next day is filled with weakness and sore abdomen muscles.
Other times it is what I eat. I have a sensitive stomach and eating out could be a gamble. Even some of the most popular restaurants will upset my stomach. I don’t want to name names but one breakfast place in particular has made me sick in every franchise I have tried. I eventually stopped trying to eat there.
Today it was something I ate. I made it myself so I thought I would be OK and I had purchased these steaks before and had no ill effect, so I thought I would be OK. I was wrong. This is what I call “Beef Belly” I get it mainly from steak and it is a vicious indigestion followed by violent vomiting.
Over the years I have learned to use doTERRA oils to help relieve some of the symptoms. The first time I used the oils I was skeptic, but Kayla snuck some Rosemary onto my stomach while I was having a burning episode. It was not long before I found relief and was back to playing my Xbox like normal. Now Rosemary is one of the oils I carry on me all the time
When it is an emotion that is upsetting my tummy I will go the oil rack and find something to eliminate irritability, reduce nervousness, or just to help relax. When I find that my emotions are going to control my tummy I quickly control them with a splash of the right oil.
Sometimes we find relief from places we do not expect. I recently started the daily vitamin regimen with doTERRA's Life Long Vitality pack. I am not sure why it works but after a few days I experienced no more morning nausea. I know it to be true because when I let myself run out I was right back to the same morning feeling.
There is little relief to be found when I eat something that upsets my stomach though. For that I have to be proactive. If I am going to eat something that has been known to give me distress I use digestzen oil to help ease digestion or I will take a DigestTab or Terrazyme.
This time though I took no precaution and today I pay the price. Though there is nothing I can do but let it work its course doTERRA has brought me some relief. One of the worst things about being sick is calling in. The anxiety of calling in sick is enough to make me sick. Then the guilt of missing a days work, then the worst part the loss... a days pay.
As a doTERRA representative though I have no boss to report to or time clock to punch. Though I am sick and that is bad enough, I can now focus on healing rather then the work load pilling up in the office or if this day out will be the thing to keep me from going from temp employee to permanent employee. So though it has been a bad morning it is not the worst.
I am feeling better as I am writing this and smelling the Deep Blue soothe my aching abdomen. Tomorrow I should be back to normal with no signs of discomfort. I do not know if I will ever find a solution for what ails me, as I said I have been suffering my whole life, but it is a blessing that I have found true relief with doTERRA.

  2. When it comes to food, my stomach is pretty strong. I can't remember the last time I was physically sick but when it comes to emotions, I'm like you and can feel it all in my stomach! I suffer from anxiety so it's not a new feeling for me anyway but the nerves and butterflies are terrible!
