What is Frankincense

Tuesday, July 17, 2018

Frankincense is an oil that should need no introduction. Even if one is not familiar with all of the medical benefits the oil has to offer we can all think of a use for Frankincense. This precious sap is harvested from the hardy but endangered Boswellia tree.  We slash the tree to allow the resin to bleed out and harden creating tears. The oil is steam distilled from those tears.

Some of the most popular uses of Frankincense are;
Supporting healthy cellular function, supporting digestive functions, and helps promote healthy-looking skin.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who hears Frankincense and thinks how it was so valuable they brought it as a gift when Jesus was born. It is no wonder why as it has been tied to spiritual and religious ceremonies for time and memorial. Today we have a variety of practical uses for this oil worth its weight in gold. From skin care to supporting body systems Frankincense is an essential essential oil.

It is no surprise that Frankincense has found its way into so many spiritual and religious ceremonies as the aroma is known to promote feelings of relaxation. With Frankincense in oil form, it becomes that much easier to incorporate the oil into our everyday moments when we need a little relaxation or spirituality. A few drops in the diffuser can set the mood of a room, or add some to a body spray to carry that feeling with you on the go.
