You're listening to the very first episode of Life on purpose a podcast by ApotheKayla. Welcome to the show if you're anything like me you want a podcast to feel cozy... On this podcast I will interview friends from all over the country and family members including my super smart and super suave husband.
- Holistic health:

- Love
- including my marriage
- self love
- your connection to your higher power, source, Universe, God, whatever you want to call it. There is love involved.
- Travel
- I want to know where people grew up why I should visit there
- what their favorite things are
- The last thing is my love of all things nerdy. Some people don't realize it but I am a huge nerd I just really feel close to subjects like blog design, web design, business building, anthropology, metaphysics, and of course I'm a Trekkie. I like science fiction books but I prefer reference books, and I just really want to explore that side with friends who are similar and maybe connect with some of you if you feel the same way. Is nerdy stuff your stuff too? Let me know!
So of course there will be episodes like this one, where you
get to hang out with me. I think these will be the ones where I'm dishing it all
out I'm telling you what's happening-the stuff that I've been
through and I'm looking for feedback. Maybe a way to connect with
you guys.
My entire intention for this podcast is to create a connection.
I've
made so many great friends online and I'm looking for more, you can never have
too many friends. So grab a cup of coffee or something to drink, settle in and
let's get this started.
Today I want to open the series on one of my favorite
topics: being your best self.
This is a topic that I've covered on my blog and
it's one that I spend a lot of time thinking about, researching, listening to
self-help books and podcasts. It's a topic that I think people should look into
more. I've never actually been on a flight but I've been told that the airline
stewardess instructs you to put on your oxygen mask in the case of an
emergency so that you can help others.
You cannot pour from an empty cup. There
have been times in my life when I've had to take a break from my blog because I
was getting my master's degree and working a full-time job as a manager of a
resort, I just couldn't do it all. I didn't have any more to pour. My cup was
already empty.
Some of the things I've learned during those times, and it's happened
a couple of times, has been to just take a step back and use a couple of
self-care tips some of my favorite media outlets right now are Audible and
podcast series; which is why I'm starting a podcast. I think if I could recommend
one book to you it would be you are a badass by Jen Sincero. This book is
amazing, when you're listening to it it sounds like she's just a friend that's
talking to you and it really puts some pep in your step.
So today I want
to go over simple topics to help you truly Take 2 minutes to 30 minutes every
day or every week for yourself whether you're single or married you have kids
or there's a lot demanded of you at your job everyone needs to pour back into
their cup. I hope you enjoy the show!
Please let me know what you think in the comments.
